Building Flooding Resiliency


Through the gathering of data from surveys (see related building block), KDI was able to assess that flooding was particularly problematic in specific high-stress areas. One interesting discovery was that real estate prices actually decreased the closer to the river a property was. This is due to exposure to flooding and pollution. In these areas river walls were reinforced with a variety of erosion control techniques.
