Watershed Youth Council
Summary
Sustainability/resilience must be passed on generation to generation; "transgenerational sustainability & resilience" can be fostered via a WYC for youth &young adults. A WYC is elected (via "Youth Vote" held at local schools), with representatives from each watershed community district. Youth reps are trained in leadership, democracy/civics, and ecological literacy (resilience/sustainability) using role-playing game/scenario planning tools. WYC advises local officials, proposes local laws, hosts youth town hall, delivers state of the watershed & mobilizes youth for eco-service/monitoring.
